8 - St Nicholas Abbey

In the northern parish of St Peter, the Abbey is a fully restored 17th century sugar plantation house which now features a plethora of historical artifacts and antiques, including a picture of Sir John Gay Alleyne, the gentleman behind the world-famous Mount Gay Rum.

Visitors will discover many fascinating tales of the bygone era during the tour and will get to watch a historic film with footage dating as far back as 1935.

The biggest attraction of all is the exceptional rum distillery, which produces some of the Caribbean’s best rums. Guests can enjoy samples whilst learning about rum distilling connoisseurs will feel at home when sampling the different blends within the beautiful setting of this restored gem.
